Lyudmila Pavlichenko, a Soviet sniper during World War II, was the named lady death. With over 300 confirmed kills, she remains the deadliest female sniper in history.
Born in 1916, Pavlichenko wasn't destined for the battlefield. Yet, when war engulfed her country, she defied expectations, joining the Red Army. Her sharpshooting skills, honed in a shooting club, proved invaluable.
Fighting on the frontlines of brutal battles like the Siege of Odessa and Sevastopol, Pavlichenko earned the nickname "Lady Death" from her terrified enemies. Her calm demeanour and meticulous planning belied her deadly effectiveness.
But Pavlichenko wasn't just a killer. She trained other snipers, becoming a symbol of Soviet resilience. After the war, she received the highest military honour, the Hero of the Soviet Union.
