With the development of technology in recent years, our efforts to find answers to this question have also accelerated. In this video, we look at the striking discovery of an exoplanet called K2-18b by a group of astrophysicists at the University of Cambridge, and what it could mean. K2-18b is a planet located 124 light-years from Earth, in what scientists call the "habitable zone." The planet is between Earth and Neptune in size and is thought to have water vapor in its atmosphere. But what's really exciting is a molecule detected in the planet's atmosphere: dimethyl sulfide (DMS). DMS is a molecule produced only by biological processes on Earth. So does this mean that there is life on K2-18b? Throughout the video, we discuss the details of this discovery, how we should evaluate it in light of scientific methods, and how it fits into our search for life in space.
