In this video, we discuss the XF-91 Thunderceptor, a post-WWII jet interceptor with a rather unique inverse tapered wings, meaning they were bigger at the wingtip. We discuss how jet aircraft and specifically, swept wing jet aircraft, came to be. We also discuss a rather common and troubling issue these early jet aircraft suffered from and how the XF-91 attempted to solve that through its unique wing design.
