When the eagles attacked the snakes to obtain Naagmani, Lord Shiva blessed the shapeshifting ability to snakes and named the first naagin to get this power, Naageshwari. She was in love with a naag Hriday while the prince of eagles, Aakesh falls in love with her despite the enmity between the clans. Aakesh plots to attack the snakes and get Naagmani. He enters the Temple with his force and kills Hriday with his army. However, he is killed by Naageshwari after which she is cursed by Lord Shiva for failing to protect other serpents but also gets boon to return after 10,000 years. She kills herself to return to unite with her lover after 10,000 years. On completing the story, Dev is brought back to life and he reunites with Brinda. The two return. According to the condition of Lord Shiva, Naageshwari has to take rebirth to complete her lovestory but the history was set to change this time. 40 years later Naageshwari is reincarnated as Bani who has lost her parents while Hriday has reincarnated as Jay, a restaurant owner who has lost his parents too. Aakesh too has reborn as Veer. Veer messes up Bani's friend Noor's marriage after which he fights with Jay. Bani stops him and Veer falls for her while Bani continuously hates him. Veer is initially shown as a playboy but when he meets Bani, he calls her his "love at first sight" and becomes madly obsessed with her. Bani loses her calm after she sees Veer's brothers burying Noor's corpse. Veer plans to win Bani's love and marry her so he instead sends a marriage alliance for her sister Meera, knowing Bani would never let him marry her sister. Jay and Bani reach the Shiv Temple and remember the previous births where Jay is revealed to be her lover Hriday's reincarnation and they both realise Veer is in fact Aakesh's rebirth. So, Bani plans to marry Jay the same day as Veer and Meera. Out of jealousy Veer asks his brothers to kidnap Jay. Veer's twin brother Teer is released and he throws Jay down the cliff. Bani witnesses Jay's death and to seek revenge she kills Teer thinking him to be Veer. However, in reality, Shukla was the one who took Teer's life which no one was aware about. When Veer comes to know of his brother's death, he forcefully marries Bani and promises to torture her. Jay is revealed to be alive and all the while faking his friendship with Bani to receive her powers. Jay poses many problems for Bani with his allies but Veer saves Bani each time and foils Jay's evil plans. Later, it was revealed to Bani that she is not Teer's killer and she told this to Veer. Veer's mother Chandrakala is exposed as to be Markaat who was Bani's biggest enemy from the Satyug era. It is later revealed that Jay is also her son. Markaat loses to Bani after Veer saves Bani and Jay pretends to help Bani. Slowly Bani appreciates the goodness in Veer and begins to like him. Markat is trapped in a cave but her evil powers endanger Bani and her family. Bani begins to like being with Veer and eventually falls deeply in love with him. She reciprocates his feelings and they consummate their marriage. But upon waking up the very next morning, Veer claims she means nothing to him, and it was all a lie from the start. Bani learns that Veer has been hypnotised by Maarkat's powers and returns him to normal. Both Veer and Bani go through a series of test and trials before they finally get together. Towards the end Bani confesses her love to Veer, and they were meant to be together no matter where they go. The show ends with Veer and Bani dying after a shooting star falls on them but their child is delivered safely on earth. They see over their child and give blessings to their child and leave. Jay attempts to kill their child but fails and dies. True love of cheel and naagin creates a new history in the universe. Their love was strong and could not be defeated by anyone.
