As word spread of Jesus’ teaching, His proclaiming of the gospel of the kingdom, and His healing of people’s sickness and afflictions, crowds from all over the region started following Him. It was then that Jesus gave what is arguably His most famous teaching, the Sermon on the Mount, where He touches on such subjects as anger, murder, adultery, anxiety, prayer and judging others. Going deeper than mere behavior modification, Jesus focuses on the heart, caring about the core of who people are, and He provides encouragement that we can trust the God who loves us and will take care of us.
