Yes, real elder wood! It's a nightmare to source and process because it's considered a weed in the UK and has no value as timber or firewood! You also need to find large enough trees with straight trunks so that timber can be harvested with avoiding the pitch which is like a sponge. Then you have to dry it... it loves to warp and split! But hey part of the mission to make every Harry Potter wand from real wood!
